This summer's bathing suit

While bathing suits never really interested me much (don't they look the same every year..?), when I saw this, I knew I had to have it. It's a vintage bathing suit, in a lovely neon yellow colour. High-waisted, lovely print and ah -- I'm in love. I haven't bought a new bathing suit since... I was 14?! Wow. So now, 12 years later, I think I deserve some yellow goodness in my life.

The dream dress

While the headline might indicate this to be my dream-dress, it isn't. I simply bought it while sleeping. Accidently, of course. I was cruising an auction site in bed on my mobile phone, and then happened to fall asleep. While in dream land, my finger still on the display, must've clicked "Auto Bid". And then la-di-da, the next morning I saw I was the highest bidder.

It's from Forever 21, has elastic denim-looking fabric. The only thing I like about this dress, is the splashes of colour. Let this be a lesson to you all. Don't sleep and bid.

Orange

So this little cutie was waiting for me at the post office today. My inital reaction to the big package was: "What the f have I bought?!". But then when I felt the weight and the faint clink of mechanics, I knew what it was.

It works like a dream. It took me a while to figure out how it works. What all the unmarked buttons did to my old university paper about japanese phonetics. It hums slightly, as is it an electrical typewriter. I actually already own one since years back, but it's one of those BIG, ancient ones. I never used it, but my interest in typewriters rekindled recently. As I love design and bright colours, this beauty was an excellent addition to my home.

Great news!

I have now officially lost enough weight to get into this little number:

I have not in any way tried to lose it on purpose, mind you. But I was glad to know my mid-twenties body is still able to LOSE weight, not only gain.
Isn't it pretty? Vintage clothing, how I love thee!

Tip of the day.

I just recently started using make-up again, so needless to say, my stash of paint for the face was rather non-existant. Not wanting to spend a lot of money on it, I decided to cruise Ebay. And I found this. Lovely design with both pen and liquid eyeliner. And it's only $1!

It's the first time in my life that I've tried liquid eyeliner. Lemme tell ya, it's hard. Re-learning everything make-up related is also kind of annoying. But it's fun!

5 sourceless images from my inspo folder

a cat is a cat is a cat

I love cats.
I've always loved cats.
In fact, the very first memory of my life consists of two kittens in a box of hay. I had one of those kittens for sixteen years. I will never forget the day I came home from school, said 'Hi honey' to her and then never saw her again because she was old, blind and tired and had decided to seek solitude in the forest for her death as cats like to do.
I currently have two cats together with my mister in our London flat. I've had Moordje for a few years now. She's a moody princess who has tiny, triangular paws and a beautiful, black coat. She's a sophisticated cat, she will give you those arrogant looks and despise you only to follow you like a shadow and curl up on your lap a few minutes after. And then there's Anakin. Moordje hates Anakin. Anakin loves Moordje, at least he loves to annoy her. Anakin also likes to chase his tail forever in the bathtub, he loves food and he never tires of playing either with his favourite toy (a very tattered mouse attached to a string on a stick) or anything that moves. Anakin loves sleeping next to me, or on me, and he also like to sit with his hind legs straight out and his front legs in between. Where Moordje will put a delicate paw on your arm when she wants something, Anakin will meow like a kitten and pounce at something randomly.
Long story short, I worship these two. Together with Joe they are my family, my babies, my friends.
And when you sit there alone feeling upset, angry or sad, nothing helps like seeing a furry head pop up at the end of the bed. Nothing helps like hearing the sound of violent purring or dragging your palm over a soft coat of fur. And they make me laugh so much.

It's the greatest thing, sharing your life with two tiny individuals like Moordje and Anakin.

I like colour

What I look like while washing my clothes. Starring the ever-present IKEA-bag, of course. Hey, I'm swedish.
